Director of Coaches: Gary Paul André
email:coaches@pasadenahockey.net
The PHA Director of Coaches, Gary Paul André, has played ice hockey for over 50 years and involved in coaching various Pasadena Maple Leafs teams for 10 years. Born in Detroit, Michigan, (Hockeytown), he was introduced to the Detroit Red Wings and ice hockey at the age of six. His youth hockey "career" began in an outdoor hockey league, highlighted by a series of games in April 1967, when his Michigan travel hockey team beat a number of California "All Star" teams. This visit to California was life changing and one of the reasons Coach André now volunteers in Pasadena. Another key factor is the family friendly atmosphere created by the hockey families, players and coaches. The 2005 recipient of the Pasadena Hockey Association Founders Award and Mite + Squirt Assistant coach is excited by the opportunity to work with Head Coaches Randy Renick (Mites) Dominic P. Menton (Squirts) and the other outstanding Assistant Coaches who will support the 2009-2010 teams. Coach André is certified by USA Hockey as a Level 4 coach, (C.E.P. No.: 114620).
