PASADENA MAPLE LEAF Greetings to Players + Parents
Welcome to our web site. Our travel hockey club is excited about next season, so we appreciate your interest in our 2008 – 2009 youth hockey program. All our teams had fun, however our “Mighty” Mite team closed out the season by winning two tournaments (Santa Rosa + Palos Verdes). Our Awesome Bantam team, won the 2008 Junior Kings President’s Weekend tournament and also captured the 2008 Southern California Amateur Hockey Association (SCAHA) Championship, beating a rival at the Los Angeles Kings training center in El Segundo.
We invite you to celebrate and build on the 44 year tradition of exciting youth hockey. This is a great time for hockey, with new rinks on the horizon. We are looking for “A” and “B” level players at the Mite, Squirt, Peewee + Bantam levels, as well as Midget “A” players. We have added great new coaches - so don’t want to miss out!
We encourage and promote a true competitive spirit while focusing on their personal growth. As a member of the Pasadena Maple Leafs family, “our” kids learn life-long values, the lessons of dedication, teamwork, integrity and accomplishment.
Our goal and mission are to develop hockey players that are disciplined, responsible, respectful, knowledgeable, skilled, healthy and happy as we create character, courage and citizenship, one player at a time. We endeavor to instill a life long love of the game in our players. Hockey is thrilling and fun! The purpose of tryouts is to place the players in the appropriate age and skill level to ensure the players’ development, safety and enjoyment. This concept continues throughout the season.
Our tryouts will take place at the end of June 2008, so check here for the announcement of specific dates and times for the various age levels. After formal tryouts, if there are any teams lacking players, we can evaluate your youngster on an “appointment only” basis. Call Treasurer Lilly Lieu at 626 578 0411 to make these arrangements. One must sign up for USA Hockey membership for insurance ~ more details @: www.USAHockey.com.
As the Director of Coaches, our coaching staff has been directed to create a safe environment where our players can grow and have fun. Thank you for your interest in our hockey Club.
